Today had an exciting adventure with our Kipepeo Outdoors mentorship program participants on a hike through the stunning Kereita Forest. It was an incredible experience that we would like to share with you all.
The day started early as we all gathered at school to set off on our journey. The excitement and anticipation were palpable as we made our way to the forest. Upon arrival, we were met by our guide from https://hikemaniak.co.ke/ who gave us a brief introduction to the forest, its history, and the various trails we could explore.
As we began our hike, we were struck by the sheer beauty of the forest. The lush green canopy, the melodious sounds of the birds, and the fresh scent of the forest air all combined to create a truly serene atmosphere. The hike itself was challenging but invigorating. We encountered steep inclines, narrow trails, and rocky terrain, but everyone persevered, encouraging and supporting each other along the way.
We took breaks along the way to appreciate the stunning scenery, take pictures, and enjoy snacks and water. Our guide https://hikemaniak.co.ke/ also shared interesting facts about the flora and fauna we encountered, enhancing our appreciation of the forest's biodiversity.
After a few hours of hiking, we reached our destination, a stunning waterfall tucked away in the forest. It was a sight to behold, and we all took a moment to revel in its beauty. We cooled off in the water, took more pictures, and then started our journey back.
The return journey was equally as challenging, but we were all energized by the experience and the sense of accomplishment that came with completing the hike. We returned to school tired but elated, having created memories that will last a lifetime.
The Kipepeo Outdoors mentorship program is designed to develop a sense of adventure, endurance, exploration, and a love for nature, and our visit to Kereita Forest certainly achieved that. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and our students, push ourselves outside our comfort zones, and appreciate the beauty of our natural surroundings.
